  12. I am going to be putting together an e-mail list that focusses on
  13. interprocess communication (IPC), especially across networks of
  14. computers.  This is primarily geared towards software developers who
  15. need to implement IPC in their applications.  The focus is mainly Unix
  16. and Windows machines, but other OS's are welcome as well.
  17.  
  18. Topics of discussion can include:
  19.     - Message-oriented middleware
  20.     - Socket programming
  21.     - Shared memory
  22.     - Communication across heterogeneous networks
  23.     - RPCs
  24.     - Using email for message delivery
  25.     - Usage of various protocols, such as TCP/IP, DECnet, and IPX
  26.     - Interprocess communication across nodes of the Internet
  27.     - Broadcast, multicast, and publish/subscribe message delivery
  28.  
  29. Feel free to suggest additional specific topics (you can send a
  30. provate email to me or post a follow-up to this post) as long as the
  31. focus generally revolves around interprocess communication.
